well the move went very smoothly with a huge thanks to my sister's bf who did all the heavy sifting and long drives back to dorset with swampy.
sam and i were relegated to mass cleaning~i think the excitement of seeing our new home for the first time i didn't notice what a mess it was in but on moving in properly i noticed...as in needing a seriously major clean, it smelled so bad, the walls...every single wall... and floors were really dirty and the garden really overgrown. so some days of major scrubbing and having all the windows open all day have gone a good way to helping.
there was one sad moment and that was when we had the gas engineer out to fit 'the beast' he tested it for leaks and condemned it...not all of it leaked and i am sure we could have had it repaired with time and money but unfortunately we don't have that kind of luxury...so that was a sad day for me. so i have had to get a new modern one, but chosen the most old fashioned looking one i could find and waiting its arrival. for now we have brought in the one out of the camper to cook on!
we now have the kitchen ready for painting, pulled down one cupboard that was surplus to our needs, removed the kitchen door as it was blocking another cupboard and it has made the kitchen seem so much larger. we discovered today that underneath the revolting plastic wind-sill's there are the original wooden ones...so far we have removed the one in the bathroom!
swampy has cleared a good part of the jungle out back with the help of my mums big chipper and i treated myself to a small olive tree today when we popped into lymington; i had bought a largish 'long tom' pot a few days earlier not really knowing what i was going to put in it...i guess my olive was why i bought it! our bedroom window faces the sun all day so that's where it will be placed once the garden path has been swept and cleaned (yes even the path is disgusting and the brick shed smells dreadful too!)
still we are getting there slowly, oh but i am so impatient to get it all done in one go!
we have taken lots of photos to do the 'before and after' thing but i need to find out my cable to upload to my lap top.
oh and how good it is to go to shops without a 30 mile round trip and to see mum and sam without the 90 mile round trip! i think it will take some getting used to!
well that's all for today~being so busy i have been running on pure excitement and now my m.e aches and pains and weariness is catching up with me.
i will try to visit you all over the next couple of days and put up some photos for you :)

Wow....you have really been busy! Moving is always such a big job but also so exciting. I love finding just the right place for all my things and then changing it around about a million times!
Don't over-do things. Remember to rest and take it easy some of the time.
So glad you're settling in, it takes a lot of time to get used to a new place doesn't it? but the fact that you won't have to travel so much to the shops and to see family should aid your aches and pains. If not, have a nice warm soak and a glass of something lovely:)

glad its going well Lee, despite the dirt, dust and grime! it wont be long before you make it 'home'. whast a shame about the beast, but I guess the engineer was doing his job properly. better safe than sorry, and a shame you couldnt afford the repairs but yuo do have to live to your budgets sadly. make sure yuo take enough time out for resting properly too.

Oh, how exciting! A ton of work & expenses, I'm sure, but still exciting to begin your new life in your new home.
Can't wait to see pics!
I love that you got an olive tree!

can you use the beast just for decoration? I had one on my verandah once, with pots and pans on top and planted some plants in some, and pine cones collection in others..
I am finally trying to wake my inner hibernating bear up to get around to my friends... now I am off to the Gypsy Caravan for the weekend.. cannot wait, even if it is freezing by the sea at the moment..
enjoy your new home, cannot wait to see some pics !
oh robyn if i had the room to keep the beast i would...i am afraid he went yesterday :(
