merry meet )o(
another hot sunny day here in dorset, our fourth or fifth in a row and my plants and herbs and crops are loving it...the peas are cropping amazingly and it looks like we will be having a good harvest of butternut squash. even the tomatos are finally coming on but i have had to take all the green ones off one plant as it looks rather unwell...the tomatos are at this moment laying on a plate in the sun in the back yard where it is a crispy 90*F my carrots are doing dreadfully so after reading about micro crops i shall harvest the tops and have in a nice salad. more about micro crops later.
yesterday on our way beak from sturminster newton (very small town about 14 miles away) we did a bit of freecycling...i saw a big sign saying 'free stuff' so of course we had to have a look, bringing home with us a bookshelf and 1960's unit which is perfect for the tv and hiding the technology! so yesterday and today swampy abandoned his seat adjustments; moved things around and fixed a long book shelf for me in the bedroom and i have been sorting through books and generally having a late...very late...spring clean. it all looks like we live here now~ since moving in four years ago we have never really done much except sort the front garden and decorate the kitchen and living room, but over the past year have been given things by very generous people~a fridge from my mum, a lovely cosy, squishy three piece suite from our neighbours~so now after our recent bit of freecycling our home looks more like a home. after our next bout of camping we will be decorating the bedroom and painting bits up that need it due to boisterous dog ownership!
