The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

merry meet )o( readers
another lovely, hay smelling day here in dorset, a day to harvest some of my nice peas and make sure my chilli's get a good long sit in the sun...i have quite a few wee chillies now and so pleased as this is my first ever plant.i have also noticed that compost bin number two has been developing nicely and is now almost half way down the bin...this reminds me to empty out the kitchen compost caddy!we bought some really good compostable caddy bags which break down really nicely in the compost bin~i think they are made with some kind of vegetable starch and they actually start to break down in the caddy if forgotten!
today is also a day to make a loaf of bread~Doves Farm organic flour makes lovely loaves, swampy does 1/3 wholemeal to 2/3 white which taste fantastic.
today is also seitan experiment #2~i have the seasoning and broth written down from the Post Punk Kitchen web site and after more research think my first batch needed much longer kneading and a good soak in cold water before the rinsing stage~this sounds like I am making felt or dyeing things not making food! but i am determined to get this right as all of the blogs and web sites i have visited makes me realize how much money can be saved with this method than spending out on things at health food stores which could be better spent elsewhere~like on rowan felted tweed!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
