thank you for your lovely comments regarding my beast of a cooker!
golly am i proud!
kathyann~yes it was right place at right time, it was originally on e-bay and didnt sell so i contacted the seller who said it would go up for sale elsewhere but i would get first refusal.
i had a phone call last week and we agreed a price of...£70!!!
they had been offered that for scrap but didnt want it to suffer that~can you imagine scraping such a lovely thing?
Leanne~it really is a beast isnt it?! i have to admit i love just standing in the kitchen and looking at it~how sad am i? i just love old things, way back when they had such nice colors and there is something earthy, chunky and curvy about them.
apparently it came from the main PO in Bournemouth and the owners brother rescued it and used it for years. was amazes me is its amazing condition, the oven looks as if it has never been used. guess the postmen preferred beans on toast!
miss*r~yes we shall have a housewarming when you are over~how nice if we can all get together! you have an aga! then it must be like my rayburn~they are very similar.
swampy, when he has finished arguing with BT, has decided he is going to dismantle as much of it as he can and give it a real major clean.
today i really must finish my reading and start on notes for my next essay...
