The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

thank you all for your comments to yesterdays postings, you are all lovely souls.

i am feeling a bit better today, after a bit of extra sleep, i was wondering if the excitement of visiting my mum and sister at the weekend and the long drive home was a bit much and caught up with me.

miss*r i have checked the little info sheet that came with my tablets and it states that sickness is a side effect that will pass...i hope so!

to distract me last night i sat and got my knitting bag out and made two little merino wool 'bracelets'~one lilac, the other a gorgeous orange which i then 'felted'~i shall take a photo later and post them.

i forgot to mention that i have bought my seedling potatos while in my mums village~they have the most amazing old fashioned iron mongers that has been there far longer than i have been alive! its the kind of shop where you can buy anything and everything and its is stocked full to bursting! so imagine my delight in finding among their sacks of seed potatos, pink fir apples~which absolutely i love. so i bought a large bag and will be putting them in grow bags (the way carol klein suggested in her fantastic 'grow your own veg')

i have resolved to spend today doing more knitting and finally follow up miss*r's advice on writing up my wishes for my new home to place at my alter and meditate on when i light my candle~its taken this long because swampy has some really nice paper for his calligraphy and i wanted to 'borrow' a piece but i couldnt find it. he was rummaging in the big cupboard in the corner of our room today and there was the paper! so a liberated a piece and now need to work on that.

kathy~there was nothing available in the village today, but then my last divination did give me a few weeks further down the line for one to become available!

Aha, so they are potatoes. They sound lovely, I may have to find some, being an obsessive sort of grower! Thank you for visiting me, and I hope your weather is more conducive to growing than mine is at them moment!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
