The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~a day of mixed emotions~

this is 'my' little stream i try to visit everyday~a perfect place where you can see no signs of mankind intruding

the blackthorn (sloe) just up from the stream is starting to put out new leaves and the smallest buds of flowers

what a day
i have been so up and down i am quite exhausted!
as usual we had our morning walk with cody, our usual route up the dead end lane to the field with 'my' stream and a huge marshy pond that cody loves to paddle around in.
such a peaceful and beautiful morning.
then it was home to get my books out for a day of study as i have an essay on jean rhys 'wide sargasso sea' and euripides 'medea' due in by friday~i was doing oh-so well until i heard the news, which set me on the path of my earlier posting.
so i calmed down and spent some time sitting out in 'pippin' wishing already (now i have thawed out!) i was away camping again.
so i have decided (not that i have told swampy yet!) that once my essay has been sent in and we have made our promised visit to my mum and sister in the new forest at the weekend we are going to pack up our new sleeping bags, some food, books and my wind-up radio and take off for a few days.
...i think i have upset swampy...i found that his club camp at 'halloween' clashes with the halloween ball and witches market again this year, so i had a minor tantrum about missing it again. i love going to these camps and love meeting our friends but i would oh so love to go on a trip just for us~and why is it events always seem to clash?!

Hi Lee, I know what you mean, I hate this country we live in at the moment too, its become so money grabbing and Dogmatic. Big Brother is definately watching your everymove and the government well a complete load of ar...les. I do a crap mundane job and the way people speak to you sometimes, its as though your something on the bottom of their shoe aahhhh!!!! Someone has to do these jobs! I hope you and Swampy have patched things up, we all have these moments! Can you tell me about the witches ball it sounds fab! I think Hubby and swampy sound so alike they should get on well together. :o)

maybe you can compromise and do both? one year do the camp, the next do the witches market.. that market sounds fantastic!

your stream is delightful and that it is like no man has ever been there! wow.. is that dock that I spy, growing on the other side ??

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
