The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~argghhhhhhhh~

~just a quick rant~

i had set today aside to spend the morning working on my present essay on how the sixties were distinctive and what significant changes the time brought about,

then i was going to spend a few hours in a deck chair sitting on the little patio swampy has made with some reclaimed slabs from our neighbour

i was planning of sitting and reading and listening to the birds~just relaxing really.

however i am having doubts about that now

we are not far from yeovil where there is the royal naval air station and on a regular basis they have training days and today is one of them.

they generally have one, two or three jets out practicing for a day and i suppose because of the valleys providing a good training ground for flying low our little village is on the flight path.

at the moment they are flying fairly high, but low enough that the noise is distracting~i am not sure that will last as it is slowly getting louder so i imagine this afternoon we will have some very low level flying.

one day i was hanging out some washing, saw a speck heading towards me and a jet passed so low i could read every bit of writing on its wings.

thank goddess they dont do it that often!

i imagine they are making the most of the good weather and of course they have to practice somewhere...

on a happier note our ancient rayburn is having some minor repairs and a much needed full service next week!

this picture is taken from the Aga/Rayburn website where you can 'identify your rayburn'! turns out this is a 1950's model that took over from the rayburn no/3!!!

anyway back to work before the sounds of the jets becomes too distracting...

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
