The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~come on a walk with me~

i went to see my mum on saturday~leaving swampy with some peace and quiet...this is the cut we can take to avoid the 'main' road

a gorgeous tangle of oak, hawthorn and rosehips...

the holly everywhere looks amazing already...

i have been facinated by this oak for many, many years...

another lovely tangle...

a deserted 'main' road...

the woods at the bottom of my mums road~we played many a game of 'cowboys and indians' in the past down there!

i dont think you can ever outgrow the joy of jumping in crisp fallen leaves~i found this pile outside my mums gate and had a little fun shuffling through them!
(yes i am wearing a skirt over my jeans!)

remember i was making pumpkin pie?
well the little pumpkin i had was enough to make two of these~one has been eaten and shared with mum and spooky...this one is still waiting to be enjoyed!

well another day of study as i have my next assignment due in on friday. however as today is such a glorious day i am taking myself and my camera up to the old church to see if i can find any green man carvings in the stonework!

remember to click on the photos for a better look!

I just loved going on this walk with you, especially the trees at the bottom of your mum's road. I always prefer to take the scenic route on my travels too :)

your area is gorgeous and really reminds me alot of Woodford in autumn time.. I guess our countries are similar after all (except ours is hotter in summer)..

do you harvest the rose-hips to make rose hip tea? and do you pick bunches of that gorgeous tangle to hang or put into vases?
love the skirt over jeans..hee, hee.. me too!! along with my Docs..

Ooh look there's Robyn up there!

Yep, that was a lovely walk, my first exercise of the day :-).

I'm a bit of a 'dress over trousers, skirt over jeans' girl too. I like the look of that skirt.
