The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

journey over Bulbarrow

merry meet & bright blessings )o(

i am just enjoying a nice lemon tea and listening to a mix of Nickel Creek, Eliza Carthy, Seth Lakeman and Jethro Tull while swampy is watching baseball. I thought i would get a few photos on here and a quick post for today~i'm suddenly feeling really tired.
well, we decided we needed some last minute bits and pieces before we go off on our camping jolly at the end of this week~completely forgetting its a bank holiday~to me that is an indication of how far removed i have put myself from the outside world.

we went to Blandford Forum for a change and as our village lies below Bulbarrow Hill, which stands between us and the town, this was our route today.
Bulbarrow is the second highest hill in Dorset at just under 1000 feet and mentioned in Thomas Hardy novels.but more excitingly to me there is evidence that reveals human occupation (and on adjoining Bell Hill) going back to neolithic times and the name has links to Beltain and the driving of cattle through the two fires!

going over the hill is the quickest and most beautiful route into Blandford and as its another lovely day i took the opportunity to get some photos on my mobile phone and send them to our e-mail address straight away (we are so remote we get no mobile phone signal here!) and amazingly they came out quite well. unfortuately they do not show the amazing view from up the top of Bulbarrow as well as i had hoped~its hard to gauge just how high up it is~and it was also quite hazy...but i hope you enjoy them!

I think it is wonderful that you can remove yourself from the outside world - something that I aspire to do. But until it happens for me, I will just live it through your eyes and blog.

Thanks for the photo of Pippin! love the name :)
and the history of your area has me in awe... I struggle with being so far removed from that kind of history... living down here, even though I was born here, I just cannot connect for some reason.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
