The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

saturday 11th august...a drift into ranting, sorry!

merry meet )o(
here's a thought that came to me this morning~out of all the music you own, if you could have only one cd/tape from now until the summerlands what would you have?
mine would be Vivaldi's Four Seasons played by Nigel Kennedy (if i was allowed a dvd player and one dvd it would be the dvd version) it is the only piece of music that really gets to me and gives me shivers. i suppose because i love the violin, having played it, not amazingly, until i was about 14...plus i love good old traditional fiddle playing, check out the Dubliners 'the fairmoyle lassies/sportin' paddy'for a good example.
its another glorious day here in dorset. i was awake about 5.30 and sat watching the sun slowly clear the heavy mist to leave a brilliant blue sky, it was a great way to start the day.
i am feeling particularly weary and achy today, i went to bed exhausted and woke up even more exhausted and feeling like i'm coming down with a cold~i know i'm not, its the dreaded m.e just reminding me that it's still there and not planning on going away any time soon.it does get me down at times but then i think and realize that in the scheme of things i'm okay really. i have swampy here to look out for me when i'm really bad, i live in a lovely peaceful area, get to go camping (which to me is restful!)and i dont have to worry about losing my job because of my illness as that happened ages ago!
however i have done what i can of the housework today and at 2pm its the Ireland v's Scotland rugby match so i shall be settled down for that...depending how i feel, possibly in my pyjams! tonight i believe it's the England v's France highlights, so its a busy rugby day for me. Yes i'm a big rugby fan and i have all the matches for the world cup mapped out and even when i'm away at vanfest our friend shaun is going to rig up his laptop for me in pippin so i dont miss any matches!

now, i was awake in the early hours and got to thinking about how we are not the democratic society we think we are and how we let a small minority govern and decide what is right and what is wrong and dictate this to us and this has been going on for donkeys years. i want to know who has the right to dictate to us that we live in square boxes, have a macjob and the regulatory amount of children? who are these planners that dictate the most stupid things...the best one that comes to mind is the chap who renovated a water tower in the middle of woods, with no other house in site, the top of the water tower being above the tops of the trees and he was refused planning for his solar panels on the roof because it interfered with the general views! how dumb do planners have to be to get their jobs?!

i dont think we are the free people we imagine we are, the thought that we are the most observed nation via cctv is to me quite scary. i know they always go on about it helping to combat crime, and i'm sure it does...although where swampy and i lived in bournemouth the camers near our flat hardly ever moved at night when it was needed and we lived in the worst area (think open dealing in the streets, our wheelie bin used as a drug drop off point and the police helicopter being out a good 70% of the time!!!)
i hate to think of all the ways that we are tracked each and every day, through so many different ways via our movements, use of crdit and debit cards, cctv etc. it was common knowledge when i was first a member of cnd in the early eighties that all members were logged, somehow in various government departments and i'm sure this stands today and i imagine that having renewed my cnd membership i am back on that list.
in fact, call me a conspiracy theorist, but i do belive that the internet is policed much, much more than we imagine it could be and that words and phrases are tagged and do come up and the government are watching us very closely indeed.

the bbc...my favorite rant and it has been for a long time.
what kind of country do we live in where we have to pay for the privilage of having the bbc charge us for the tripe they show on their channels. whats worse is we have to essentially register if we buy a new tv so that the licencing authority can chase us and charge us a small fortune for things we dont watch and threaten us with prison if we dont pay! in this age of advanced technology you would have thought that they could work out some kind of pay per view system...but i expect they have thought of that and realized how much money they, and the government would loose by doing this. they claim the licence is the price it is to enable them to produce good quality tv...like heck! i look at the tv listings and its the same old crud day after day, with the very occaisional bit of somethng decent/interesting in between the crud; the majority of the time its soap's,variations on ways to create money, buying houses and the worst of all, a constant run of 'talent' shows. why is that they also only cater for a particular faith?

Does the heat play havoc with your ME? My MS is always worst when it is really hot like today.
I am quiet sure we are being watched...and they don't like people who don't fit into a box!

Music wise I would have To The Moon by Capercaillie...brilliant or maybe Otherworld by Lunasa...it would be so hard to choose just one CD as I so love my music.
Take care,

I shudder at the thought of all those CCT cameras everywhere too, and take comfort that I am captured less than most people as most of my days are spent here, in my cottage and garden, in the somerset countryside. I do wonder about the internet though- I use it a lot.

I cant answer the music question just like that, it needs a lot of thought!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
