The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

merry meet )o(
well here i am again.
its a very slow day here in sunny dorset, essentials such as ordering a load of winter wood for our fires and rayburn have been done, bank checked and swampy is unpacking pippin. i am feeling slow and tired so keeping out of the way with a nice hot organic blackcurrent drink.
we have the airforce out playing today~because of the hills and valleys here the area is perfect for them to practice so we get quite a few free shows throughout the year. but sometimes the noise does get a bit much~especially when they are so low you can read the writing underneath them as they fly over!
i have finalised the change in my degree to history and the first year looks very exciting; art history and classical studies of the Colosseum in Rome, the French Revolution, historical introduction to the contrasting styles of Classical and Romantic painting, the nature of religion~looking at different religions including a case study of Hinduism and the study Shaw’s Pygmalion, Euripides’ Medea, Strauss’ Don Juan and Jean Rhys’ Wide Sargasso Sea. its a more intensive course than my original one and will take a lot of study and reading~but i do have time on my hands! next week its into the lovely bookshop in dorchester with the reading list.

we had a very good time away, the citroen event was great, we managed a grand total of 34 H vans~which i think is nearly every road worthy one in the country~pictures to come soon!
vanfest turned into a huge event with the site being declared full within 6 hours of opening, we had to use the day visitors car park as a campsite and a nearby campsite was used as well. my personal highlight was helping to escort in the commitments tour bus and chatting with their drummer while manning a gate ~i only found out two days later who he was!
as well as swampys daughter, her boyfriend and their friend with us~in a tent not squashed in pippin with us! we had his niece, amy~cate camp on the saturday night and we took her to see just poi do one of their displays~see photo above~they put on a really good show with fire juggling etc~go here to see a poi website.
we also have a resident band druids brew who play throughout the show but it was organised for them to play at our after~show party, i took the chance to finally get their cd and get it signed by tim the singer.
there were a few not so good moments to do with what swampy and i consider to be just plain meaness and greed on the part of others, but we hope to resolve that.

its kind of good to be home and get sorted for the winter and get ready to start my degree but already i have itchy feet to be off and away! hopefully we can do a few long weekends away~once we have sorted our new tyre for pippin its off to Glastonbury for a couple of days of peace.
i cant wait
