merry meet )o(
i hope this morning finds you all well~after a decidedly wet and stormy night~it was fantastic~ we have the most amazingly clear blue skies here in dorset.
everything has been freshly washed.
it has been generally quiet here this past weekend. swampy has been involved in an online committe meeting as part of his role within a big camper club and been out up the woods playing with a chain saw again and helping to deliver the logs to a cottage further up the lane and i have been busy getting to grips with the start of my studies~a short essay to prove to my tutor i am able to write essays!
however i have also been feeling really unwell~it's that ole' M.E kicking in for the winter, last year it happened in november; i suppose this year it has decided that too much of a good thing is a bad idea and let me have a winters taster early!
so i have not been sleeping well or been able to sit in a comfortable way because my joints and muscles have been doing some protesting~still i am feeling a bit better today, hence the posting early just in case it decides to come back with a vengance this afternoon.
swampy has been busy sorting out the back yard~turning over the compost bins and emptying the old and dead out of pots~those jolly black-eyed susans i mentioned have been put into the hanging basket outside our back door so when i am washing up or preparing food i can see them and they never fail to make me smile.
i think if i feel okay this afternoon i shall wander up to our farm shop to see if they have any winter flowering pansies.
going to our farm shop is a lovely walk~we have to walk down a steep lane, which takes us to the very bottom of our valley where there is a wood, over a small stream, where our local potter lives and works from a place called 'crumble cottage'~the place is as lovely as the name suggests! then its up a steep hill past the village hall (which used to be the local brewry) and a building called 'the cheese house' (i have yet to find out why it is so named) and finally to our farm shop/garden center/post office/certified camp site!
its an interesting shop, the side with the post office counter sells all the usual generic thngs you would find in any shop (but with the addition of 'bridport pies'~their homity pies are so lovely!) but the other side sells vegetables, wellies, walking sticks, hard carved wooden bits and bobs, assorted local cheeses and wines etc and most excitingly for me, mead!
well i shall stop here for now and get my books out, i know swampy wants to check out the google groups for fall-out from the weekend 'meeting'
have a lovely day where ever you arex
