The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

notes from the sick bed

merry meet

i have missed a few days here because i have flu...i think getting cold on my walk on sunday must have tipped me over the edge and i have been ill since sunday night...this evening i had a small bowl of stew, my first food since sunday and today i have not spent all day in bed...just most of it! and i am able to blog because my laptop arrived today and swampy has arranged it all for wireless...so me and my germs can blog from bed!
so i am presently wrapped in my favourite red and white woolly blanket on the bed...surrounded with all the usual cold/flu items! although i do not take lemsip...i always make my own honey and lemon drink with a dash of ground ginger and just take two paracetamol if need be...tastes so much better than the mass produced cold remedies. the biggest downside to this flu is i am now a few days behind in my studies and am still to complete the final 300 words of my first marked assignment.hopefully if i dose up on the homemade remedy tonight i will be able to funtion enough tomorrow.
on that note i shall finish here, make the said homemade and hopefully feel a bit better tomorrow.

bright blessings

Hi Lee - sorry to hear your feeling so poorly, I've missed your blog these last few days so its really nice to have you back - even more so as you dont feel too good.
Dont forget there's always the boiled milk and onion remedy
Take one peeled spanish onion stick it with 6 cloves and boil in 1 pint of milk until the milk has reduced by half, leave to go cool and then strain and drink the milk.... I;m affraid its kill or cure!!
Here's hoping your felling much brighter tomorrow

I'm sorry you aren't very well - I'd been wondering where you were. Hot lemon and honey is a really comforting thing for colds and flu - a drop of whisky in it doesn't hurt either:) Get well soon.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
