The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

a festive trip

Dia dhuit
we are off to the New Forest tomorrow for our yearly gathering and because it will be a full house we will be sleeping in Pippin!

we shall load up with quilts and woolen blankets, make sure there is water and that our tea and hot chocolate supplies are enough for a few nights and be so cosy at bedtime!

i have just spent the day typing up the draft of my essay and have vowed not to look at my books for three whole days.

swampy has gone up the woods logging and i am taking the opportunity to some and peace and quiet before the comng days.

the lights are twinkiling on the tree and i am burning sage candles and it smells so good.

tonight, as we have done every year since living here, we will wrap up warm and take a walk through the village looking at the lights and trees our neighbours have decorated. it doesnt take long as it is such a small village but we walk slowly, enjoying the lights that only a few people see and this year i will come home and sit by the fire and have a glass of mead.

i hope you all, however you celebrate the days after Yule, have a peaceful time filled with love and light.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
