The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy
its been a few days since my last post, i have been doing my studies and wrapping gifts and 'spring' cleaning, getting in stores of wood and planning our visit to the New Forest over the Yule.
Two days ago in a fit of insanity, plus a small amount of cross feelings i put cody in his harness, heading up the dead end lane behind our cottage and walked...and walked...and found myself, after wading ankle deep in mud up at the Dorset Gap

i had been meaning to go for a while but never really had the energy to walk that far and that high. it was a cold, clear day with a very high wind but it was so worth it. i could see no other sign of humanity, all i could see were crows and buzzards and the only sound was the wind and the view was layers and layers of hills.
i sat for a while on the windless side of what was once a rampart or terrace enjoying the peace out of the wind from where i could see the ramparts and terracing on the hills that surround our village.
the cross feeling i had as i set off melted as i sat were the ancestors of the land once lived their lives...i could almost feel them around me as i sat there, and once or twice i looked to one side as if it would be no surprise to see a wool clad figure come up from the ancient pathway through the woods. i could almost feel the movement around me of people going about their day; collecting wood and water, tending animals and the land, the healer collecting herbs to dry for use later and then at night everyone gathering in the great roundhouse to eat and tell stories.

i almost wished i could have been pulled through the veil that was there and join them.

I have been feeling cross lately too.. actually downright angry. Your poem above says it all - love.
I must try to remember that.
When I come over.. lets take a walk to Dorset Gap together!
I read somewhere that the veil between worlds is thinning more and more each day, coming up to the year 2012.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
