The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Triskele

the triskele is tattooed just below my inner elbow and represents the three realms of Land, Sea and Sky and the cycle of Birth, Life and Death.

i have always been drawn to the ancient, sacred paces of my land and what i felt...and now know... to be my heritage and my spirituality has been moulded by this over many years.
while my tattoo was being done i spent the time thinking of the ancient ancestors of this land and their sacred spaces that have endured for thousands of years, as a way to embed those thoughts into my skin and to honour those of my ancestors who walked this land and left their spiritual marks behind for those who follow.

I love this! I had never seen the triskele until I did my banner a few weeks ago.. I found it somewhere and it stirred my ancient soul, and didn't even know that it was called a triskele until just now. Funny thing is, when I first found the symbol, I told my husband that I wanted it as a tatoo (if I ever get the courage to get one)
do you think this triskele could be a common thread with you and I? One that links our past?

robyn...the one on your banner i believe to be the same as the one on my blog! i noticed it on your banner a little while ago and just said to myself 'new grange'.
it is in ireland, a megalithic passage tomb. i think the link to the site is still on my blog, further down the page.

yes i am sure it is a common thread linking us...there are too many little links that keep popping up for it to be anything else!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
