Dia dhuit
joy, joy...my new laptop arrives on tuesday!
so there will be no stopping me...e-mailing galore to be had...you know who you are!
it snowed for quite a time last night but came to nothing as the ground was so wet, however it has started again tonight, but again onto very wet ground.
i have had a day off from my studies today and spent it reading and generally relaxing, back to the books tomorrow.
the weather started lovely in our valley today so i walked up the lane, not up to the Dorset Gap but just high enough to be able to see the ancient Rawlsbury hill fort, it always has the feeling of centering me when i feel a bit out of sorts and cant reach any other place...another good reason for my sacred garden.
when i went into dorchester on wednesday i bought from Sister Moon a small pagan magazine 'Merry Meet' which proved to be a really good read (i went in for the latest issue of Dolmen Grove but there were none to be had) it had a good write up on Maumbury rings~a place i pass every week with a dreadfully sad story attached to it.
This is how the story is descibed in a large media conglomorate website 'Mary Channing, a feisty local resident who in 1704 poisoned her husband and paid the ultimate penalty for her crime.' it makes it sound such a party doesnt it?
i have looked on the net and found the smallest of mention of this in many sites, however a link via wiccanweb
will take you to a more indepth story.
so when you light a candle please remember Mary Channing
