This is the river stour which we need to cross to get to my dentist in sturminster newton, a village about 10 miles away...in the bottom picture anything this side of the trees is flood water!
the building you can faintly see in the left of the top picture is the mill...a better view of this is in the link, it gives you some idea of how the river has come up.
crossing the actual bridge the water was about a foot from the road.the roads were not too bad on our journey although there was still a lot of water flooding down the banks from the fields. as we arrived home the rain started again and i think is due to continue through the night. tomorrow i think we will have a few hours grace so will hurry down to weymouth for shopping first thing.
for now i am nice and warm in front of the fire with the wind blowing and rain falling outside the window.

You certainly seem to have had alot of rain over there the past year or so.. I remember daisy saying her little cottage was in danger of flooding a few times!
Hope that you managed to get your shopping and to your dental appointment ok!Always good to get back home to a warm house and a hot cuppa!Take care ,love from Kathyann and the girls
The rain has been relentless lately and I feel so sorry for all those who are being flooded for the second time in a year. Hope you are safely above the water where you are.
