i wanted to get out before the weather turned, as it is promising to do and it was a beautiful morning~too nice to miss.
so off i went up the lane as usual.
so far the weather is not too bad, we had about half an hour when it went really dark, the wind started to gust and we had a hail storm.
that cleared and it has been nice again but it is getting colder.
they were saying on the news that the expected storm will be the worst of the winter~i guess we shall wait and see.
going back a few posts to my dinner~mushrooms in pepper sauce~miss*r, no, unfortunately they were shop bought mushroom~i never seem to find any growing in the fields here, possibly someone gets out earlier than i do and harvests them?! it was really nice though, especially with the sweetheart cabbage. i imagine it will be just as nice with added vegetables, like peppers etc.
at the moment i am thinking of our menu for when we are up in Yorkshire at 'easter'~i generally also feed our friend sean a few nights when we are away and luckily he has become a fan of my veggie dishes so this trip i will be trying out my veggie chilli on him.
sitting here i am looking out of our window and the sky has, in the last twenty minutes become a pale grey with darker clouds rushing by and rain is now hitting the window. i think its now time to change into my comfy plaid flannel trousers, thick warm socks and warm, wooly poncho and sit in front of the fire with a hot chocolate and get my knitting out!
all of my friends here in the uk, take care in the coming weather and take a leaf out of my book!

thanks for your message re: keeping safe Lee, the same back to you and Swanpy from me!
We have had wonderful brooding dark skies, fabulous clouds, rain hail and sunshine, all alternating. i have put the hens away, let them out, put them away all day! the temperature has noticeable dropped, and I lit the woodburner a little while ago. I brought in extra coal and wood, so we should be snug and warm in whartever weather we do get!
take care, keep safe

We had hail here too and a fantastic rainbow i tried to take a pic out of the discovery window but not that amazing. Keep safe in the storm. x
hope the storms weren't too bad. We have had some wild and woolly weather this year too, during summer but the past few days have been sunny blue skies, perfect for being in the garden!
can you eat polenta? I have a wonderful recipe for it.
oh & for 'easter' - Ostara as Daisy liked to call it :) - we have roast lamb with all the trimmings... mind you, it is really Mabon for me.. stay warm xoxo
