The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~my 'tarot'~

its funny how some cards can speak to you~my first tarot deck was an arthurian one, really beautiful cards but could i get to grips with them? not in a million years!
these are the cards i use regularly, although not a traditional tarot, but beautiful and they feel right in my hands.
i first saw them in a bookshop in dorchester and as is usual i didnt buy them~is'nt that always the way?!
from that point i couldnt stop thinking of them and found they were, at the time not easy to get hold of. then one day driving to my mums i asked swampy to stop off in burley so i could go into 'the coven of witches'~ and what did i find waiting for me? you guessed it and only one in the shop so of course i had to buy them.
there are fewer cards than a usual tarot deck but they allow for a wide range or readings with several different spreads.

Lovely cards. I've got the tarot of the old path, again lovely deck but hard to read. After Glastonbury, Burley is probably my next favourite place. I love the coven of witches and purchased my first piece of windstone from there. I live quite near the New Forest, so not too far to trek. Have a lovely evening.

Lee, Ive got those too!! I love the card illustrations- the face on the beech tree, the spectral face of the elder and the kindly hawthorn. a lovely set that resonates with me too.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
