The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~a lost sort of freedom~

well i have been really neglecting blog~land this past week or so.

getting my final essay finished and sent, sorting all the registrations for my next lot of study and going away in pippin has led me down a blog free path.

now i am back~i have some revision to do for my exam next tuesday but as i can choose two out of four disciplines for the two essays needed i can structure what i revise and have no panic over trying to work over the whole year.

one of the archaeology courses i selected was so over subscribed that i have been put into the one starting in september, which means it will overlap with my other archaeology course, but i dont think it will be a major problem~my love of archaeology is so great it will not be like study~more of a dream come true.

however this means that right now i feel as if i am on some kind of extended summer holiday, after next tuesday i will have no committments until september~ its a novel experience after the last 9 months of study not to wake up and think about what i need to read or what notes i need to write up or worry about meeting the deadline for an essay~i feel lost but at the same time i feel free~to turn on my laptop in the morning and not feel a hint of guilt that i am blogging or visiting blogs when i should be studying!

so i shall take the time to recharge my batteries~read, garden, relax, knit (i am thinking of opening an etsy shop)~enjoy watching my veggies grow.

already i am thinking of what to read next, i finished the six 'tales of the city' books this morning and now need something else~ i recently finished another re-read of 'stonewylde', i have to finish my multiple re-read of the last book and a half of 'boudica' and i do have garrison keillor's 'lake wobegon days' to finish~i am never happy with just one book on the go and i have an urge to re-read edna ferber's 'giant'...the list is endless~i can see the pile of books next to my bed will be towering this summer!

we are off camping again tomorrow~swamping has a couple of meetings so it is an excuse for camping and we are meeting our good friend sean in malvern.

my sister and i have been busy making plans for our yearly 'sisters only' trip~this year to wimbledon in july for the men's singles semi-finals~the hotel where we are staying for two nights looks wonderful with a great Singaporean, Malaysian and Chinese restaurant~so i have been saving my pennies to allow us to eat there for the two nights if we want to.

next year our trip takes us on a 5 night mini cruise for next october from spain to the canaries and maderia and back on a monster of a boat/ship/whatever called the navigator of the sea's.

i have done an awful lot of travel in my life~america, canada, the far east and europe but this will be my first time on a cruise so it really is something to look forward to and of course add a new destination to my list!

Maybe then you will get the chance to relax a bit!Etsy shop sounds like a good idea although I have seen them on other peoples blogs I wouldn't know how to start one up!
Lucky you getting tickets for the semi's at wimbledon and the cruise sounds wonderful, does Swampy stay home to look after Cody?
Ithink it will be quite awhile before we go away again!
