The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~of solar lights and sorrel~

we have spent the afternoon re-packing pippin (miss*r pippin is a boy!) and swampy has fitted two solar lights to the interior~to date we have not had any major light which makes doing any cooking difficult when it is dark but at our local diy store last week found they had solar shed lights.

well we bought one and tested it out last weekend and it worked so well we bought a second and fitted them today~one over our 'kitchen' and one over the bed~swampy fitted the little solar panels in tucked away areas next to windows and when it is dark tonight we shall be popping out to test them!

i am now sorting out some dinner~have just cut and rinsed some sorrel and prepared new potatos to make some potato salad (enough to take some away too) to go with some tasty cheese quiche i totally forgot i had bought yesterday!

...i have added to my re-read list and pulled my well worn copy of peter mayle's 'a year in provence' out to read~think the 'frenchness' of last weeks camp has still not worn off!

...swampy and i sat and watched the film 'master and commander' last night~it is well worth watching if you have not seen it.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
