The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~whats going on?~

does anyone out there have the feeling that things are going seriously wrong within our world?
things have been looking bad for sometime and it seems we have had a drip-feed of bad things~environmentally as well as socially, but recently it all seems to be going pear shaped...

In a word - yes. The pace of change is now feeling like its breakneck and I alternate between trying to futureproof my life on the one hand and whether I should just "eat, drink and be merry because tomorrow...." on the other hand. But - I am trying to stay positive - so I'm futureproofing and thinking that if we get through the next few years in one piece then things could even improve - as in a more human-centred, aware, caring society than we have at present.

The key is getting through that crucial next few years.

Oh, hell yeah. Usually I take it all in stride...But this is the first time I've started to feel fear for the future. It used to be ethics, morals, empathy that drove me to enact change. This time, it's fear. And that sucks. But onward I go.

I am very unsettled about the path mankind is taking, and trying in my own quiet way to prepare for what I think will be difficult years ahead for us all.

Mankind seems to be running like a lemming straight over the edge of the cliff - I despair of the greed and stupidity of big business and governments who grab more and more from the earth with no thought for anything but short term politics and gain. All those of us who see the danger can do is soldier on and hope that they see sense before it's too late.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
