i was brought up in a house where the only sport watched was rugby and tennis so you can imagine the excitement in getting tickets for the men's semi-finals on friday...all the more special as it will be our~that is me, of course and sam my sister~ first ever time there and the weather report is good.
i have just checked the centre court seating plan from the number on our tickets and found that we will have a pretty good view of the court.
our hotel is in kensington and chelsea so we will be able to do the tourist thing as we will have a half day to explore. one destination only a ten minute walk is kensington gardens and palace where i hope to find the wonderful bronze statue of peter pan...
portobello road and notting hill are close by and harrods is just around the corner, although i dont imagine we could afford anything there~we are going however as my sister, sam, loves the food hall ...
can you believe this!

Harrods does sell some cheaper items, even its in souvenir shops. The Peter Pan statue was a let down for me, when I first saw it, as it had taken on myth status for me when I was back in Oz, probably because of a movie I once saw.
I used to live close by to Portobello and Notting Hill, and it changed whilst I was there. I used to go into Marnie's Cafe (right at the east end of the road) and have lamingtons (like they make back in Oz). Its the only place in London I used to know that sold those cakes.
Enjoy your stay.
The food hall is great.
