i don't know if the word 'jammy', as in being very lucky is used in other parts of the world~but that's how things have been for my sister and i this past year...
~front row tickets for Take That
~centre court tickets for wimbledon and upgraded hotel at no extra cost
funny thing, i seemed to come home with lots of photos of Rafael Nadal!
~sam booked our cruise and on that very day they had lowered the prices and the next day had increased them
~i am finally moving back to brockenhurst~we heard today that the keys are being returned on monday so we will have our moving date really soon
today was a great day...
~we had to get an inner tube and new tyre fitted and we were quoted £71 on saturday when we called the garage about it...the bill was £61!
~i found £20 in my purse left over from last weeks shop
~on a whim we decided to cut through the posh but small (and rather expensive!) department store in dorchester...not something we usually do as we can never afford things in there! for some reason we did today and found a huge sale on and we found a collection of plates, bowls, side plates and mugs that had been reduced a great deal.
now this was something we really needed, so decided to get 6 of each...and it cost us under £15 for the whole lot!!!!!
i really love them as they remind me of the sea, pebbles and beach huts~muted blue, cream and a stone like color. i got them home, washed them and packed them carefully away.
i am now hoping the sale is still on next week as they had a black whistling le creuset kettle that was half price...and i can just imagine it sitting on the 'beast' and whistling merrily for the first chai of the day!

Gosh, I know that shop - used to live near Dorchester (and have also lived in the New Forest, funnily enough). I took the same shortcut about 10 years ago ..... emerged on the car park side having fallen for a gorgeous piece of fabric from the remnants box - just enough for a cushion cover.
Hope everything goes brilliantly with the move, good luck with all the packing.
xM
p.s. Love that cooker btw, brilliant.
That all sounds very delightful. Lee...except it was a shame to be spoilt by having to go and see 'Take that!'.. I spose there has to be some yin and yang! alx
Ive only just discovered you - and now you are moving out of Dorset!
The Universe works in mysterious ways. But thanks for telling Rowan of Circle of the Year about the Stonewylde series!
Ive just left a comment on Kit's blog too.
Thank you!
I love the word jammy, we use it a lot. I really think you make your own luck to some degree and the best thing ever is enjoying lifes small pleasures. I'm glad you're getting all these little windfalls and I love the colours of your new crockery - so pretty.

Sounds Like your lucks in. I use the word jammy too. Nice bargain and I hope the kettles still there next week. Bet you can't wait to move back to brokenhurst, you won't live too far from me.
How fun! There's nothing like a bit of good fortune...
I'd love a cup of tea in one of those pretty mugs...:)

My husband picked me up a le creuset kettle for my birthday this year. I love it!
