The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~of Gormenghast,kettles & a mad rush~

i first read these books over twenty years ago~boy does that kind of statement make me feel old, well, oldish!
i read them and kept them, deciding few years ago to pass them onto oxfam...well wouldn't you know it a month or two back i really wanted to read them again.
after a month when my local second hand book seller couldn't get me them i ordered them and after a two week wait they arrived.
here they are in all their new book glory with the wonderful new book smell about them.
i have resisted the draw of opening the pages of Titus Groan and start my reading as i am still only half way through a multiple re-read of 'Gone with the Wind' and with the move coming upon us i don't have time.

but i am so looking forward to reading them again!

***remember my finding a gorgeous Le Creuset kettle last week?***
well here it is...

we hurried into the department store yesterday and first thing we noticed was that the sale display had gone and felt a huge surge of disappointment. but checking the regular Le Creuset display found 'our' kettle' tucked away on a lower shelf...and joy of joys still half price!

needless to say we paid for it and tucked it safely away in the van while we did the rest of our shopping.

when we arrived back home, of course i had to unpack it for closer inspection and take its photo to share with you all and naturally i thought i would stand it on the 'beast' to see how it would look, imagining the time when i can boil the water for my first chai in my new home...

i think it looks quite at home there!

needless to say like the crockery last week it is packed away in its box.

***so whats this mad rush?***

well we found out yesterday we can move into our new home on monday 4th August~a short ten days away, so you can imagine the chaos that is now our lives. i am so glad i had the boxes delivered early and that we have actually packed about 90% of our belongings away already.

today i have been sorting out change of address notices and swampy has been organizing our telephone and internet to be changed over. we go to Lyndhurst, the next village about 5 miles from Brockenhurst, on monday to sign the paperwork and can collect our key on friday...we are allowed to start to move our belongings in before we actually move in. so as we are going to my mum's on tuesday to have our yearly family day out at the New Forest Show we will be taking a load of the boxes to be left in mum's spare room until friday, meaning on friday we will actually have two van and trailer loads of belongings...an awful lot...to drop off.

i know its awful to wish the time away but i really cant wait for the 4th to arrive, luckily as we are going to lyndhurst on monday, going back to stay at my mums on tuesday for the show on wednesday and wont be coming home again until thursday, then back again to Brockenhurst on friday (my head is spinning already!) i think the week will fly by.

at night its hard because my mind is so full of ideas about how we want the new place to be, all those long held ideas and plans will finally have an outlet! and the peace i feel in knowing i wont have to move ever again, unless i really want to, is amazing.

and of course i will be sharing it with you :)
