~look beyond cody and you can see the present floor~tiles that were put down about 35 years ago~you can also see the glue from where the previous person pulled up laminate flooring~so with this new news swampy has decided to get down on hands and knees to remove glue and clean and we are getting some nice new rugs sooner rather than when we have decorated.
the bonus is that not owning the place we will not have to pay for this work which i imagine will cost a lot of money. i have only been a homeowner once in my life, all other homes have been rented and i have had friends say to me 'why not buy, why waste money renting?'. well the good thing about renting, if you have a decent landlord, which i always have, is that you dont have to worry about finding the money for things when it all goes wrong~like now! you make a phone call and it gets done for you. although with our previous home we were quite unsettled as our landlord was always thinking of selling.
our little (actually not so little) bungalow is owned by new forest district council and is what i now consider our 'forever' home as if you are lucky enough to get one they are homes that will never be sold or knocked down. my mum is still living in one, a house that was built in the 1920's, with a huge garden and she has been there 41 years!
whats good is that we can do anything we like to it except knock down walls which is why we have already taken down one huge wall cabinet in the kitchen and measured the doorways to replace the horrid ones here! we have a very definate idea as to how it will all look and it may take time but we will get there eventually! of course progress will be here for you all to see!

Our neighbors just went through a leaky bathroom ordeal but unfortunately their landlord wasn't interested in fixing any of it....he just wanted to cover over everything! They moved out and new people have moved in....I don't think they know about the problems yet! Sounds like you have a better situation where you are.
Lovely to see your new home SD. Hope all the teething problems get sorted quickly for you. Cody looks confused bless him. Are there lots of good dogs walks near by?
Well your new home looks just great, it's fab having a blank canvas to paint your personality on and I can't wait to see what you and Swampy do with it. I love the fact you've found your forever home, that's really sweet. Now get planting up that garden lady :)

That's too bad about the dampness, but you're lucky to have a great landlord who will pay for it to be fixed.
I've always rented, I know what it's like to have to move due to selling, etc.
It sounds like your bungalow is the most perfect place in the world!
Cute pic!

nice one. alx
nice one! alx
You're lucky to have a landlord who will take care of the leaky bath and all its accompanying problems. Hope it all gets sorted out soon. There's enough water outside this summer without having any extra inside!
Sounds scary!
But I'm sure it will all get done.
Right now we have a leaky dishwasher which has given us tsunami's in the lino, and yes we own.
Bamboo flooring here we come!
Old homes always keep us on our toes.:) I have no doubts that your place will be lovely when everything gets sorted...
Blessings to you...
