here are the house warming presents given to us by my mum and sam...the little milk pot is so cute!
tomorrow my new cooker comes and on wednesday the chap is coming out to fit it so wednesday evening i will be cooking our first proper meal in our 'forever' home!
i am now just trying to think what to cook...
swampy has been working hard on painting the spare room...or 'sam's room' as it is now known...it is now a jolly pale yellow with all the woodwork a nice clean white, he has made me a bespoke bookcase to which i am adding my own finishing touch...photos to come later...he has also stripped down my old cabinet (it was my parents when they first married!) and that too is getting a new coat of paint in a gorgeous arts and crafts color~again photos to follow ;)
on wednesday we are going to buy the flooring for sams room and the other day we saw the most amazing vintage looking bath tap/shower head and are debating whether to buy it as we dont have a shower right now...which reminds me, we had a chap come round today and replace the bathroom and kitchen taps...they had on special adaptions for the elderly to help them use the taps...he kindly replaced them with really nice old fashioned ones for us!
i dont know why but i seem to be turning the clock back with our home, my plan is to have visitors step back in time a little when they step through the door and we are finding ourselves selecting the most vintage looking things to bring home with us! we are even changing the light switches and internal doors, door handles and front door locks!
its even spread to my clothes as i have found the most amazing reproduction Edwardian ladies waistcoat and put i have mentally placed it on my 'christmas wish list'!
i watched 'out of africa' for the umpteenth time yesterday~it was wonderful, sitting on the sofa in my nightie and thick woolie socks and wrapped in one of my blankets wallowing in the film~and i always cry during the last 20 minutes!

Sounds like you're settling in nicely and making the place your own, how exciting! I love that kettle by the way. Wishing you all the best with it all, xM
Wonderful house warming gifts!!
You seem like a busy busy lady, which is expected when moving into a new home! Are you relieved this is a "forever" home and you won't have to stress about a big move again? hehehe
Can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful vintage home! :)

Bret =)
