sleeping beauty~edward burne-jones
well the last week have been really busy for all the obvious reasons!
today i find myself in a kind of weird limbo with the new year coming upon us and a new year camp, incorporating a new year party which i am not really looking forwards to...i have my two coming exams in my head right now and although i will be taking my books and lap-top away to work on my essay i still feel it will be five days missed to my deadlines...
to be honest i want to stay in my little cosy home in peace and quiet, sleeping in my warm comfy bed...
i was given two great books as gifts...
i had an early night last night with a nice chamomile and spearmint tea and started to read both but my mind was not really focusing and so i only managed a page of each!
i was also given an ipod nano which i am struggling to work~how can something so small be so complicated? i am sure its just me and my 'techno-fear'!

I'm glad all the festivities are over and I can settle down into my routine again! New Years is always a quiet night for me....one of reflection and planning new goals and hope for the year ahead.
Your new books look very interesting....I got some new art books and haven't had time to read them yet either.
I hope your New Year is calm and quiet and you can concentrate on your essay.
Oh I hear ya! I just want to be done with it all, and curl up with a book and a pot of tea. It can be so overwhelming with these few days of relentless visiting and entertaining.
I love your books...they look fascinating.
Happy New Moon
I agree! Its done, over, I want christmas all packed away too! I am tempted to take all except the tree down today, and then the tree will go on new years day to start the new year clean fresh and tidy! i have quiet reflective new years eves too, i am not the party sort, i prefer to reflect on whats gone, and look ahead to what might come. I have the second book, the first looks interesting too!

i have never heard of this ipod nano of which you speak so i guess i would be no help there. good look on your exams i'm sure you'll do fine. this year i would have rather had a quiet christmas and new year so i could work on my allotment but alas, the kind of job i have... Sigh. oh well I have few hours t work now so off to the plot.
I got a Nano too! did all the wrong things, got frustrated, threw it under the bed and my 19 yr old came up today and fixed it.... mine is pink.. what colour did you get?
wishing you both a wonderfully, peaceful 2009 xoxo
I'm glad it's over too, glad to be home and getting back to normal.
You'll love that Nano once you master it, I have music and books on mine. Love it!
Happy New Year! Hope 2009 is a good one! xxxx
Happy New Year to you from a fellow technophobe!
Triumph of the Moon is an excellent book, the other looks fascinating too.
Like you I'm glad to have arrived in the peaceful backwaters of January. I have the Miranda Green book but haven't read the one by Ronald Hutton though I have another of his books. Must look for the Moon one. Hope your exams go well - I'm sure they will :)
