The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~of teeth & lifted spirits~

the saga continues...

poor swampy~after a huge round trip yesterday to the hospital and then dentist he was sent off with antibiotics for an infection and told he will need surgery to remove the offending teeth~the infection is under a crown and obviously needs to be better before anything else is done.

the good news is our dentist has opened a new surgery in poole, which will cut our journey time considerably, so we have registered already and fingers crossed this will mean he can have his surgery at poole hospital.

spring has sprung here in my corner of the new forest and in the hanging baskets either side of my front door the hearts ease are flowering and along the flower bds that were there when we moved in, what looks like a carpet of assorted daffodils~which i think are called jonquils in america, a name i much prefer~are due to flower within the next week.

despite it being alittle chilly all of the windows are open and the birds are singing like mad~all kinds of bird song is drifting through the window where i am sat. i have had a week of not feeling too good at all and so the sunshine and blue sky today is really lifting me.

If your daffodils (that is what we call them too) are ready to bloom next week I guess that puts your spring about 2 months ahead of us...sigh..... take lots of pictures!

Poor old Swampy hope he is soon sorted out. Flippin heck Spring must be a lot later up here, unsurprising really !!! Glad that the lovely weather this weekend is cheering you up, hope you feel more Springlike soon. I've really noticed the light evenings are beginning to draw out now.

I think daffodils and jonquils are two different bulbs. Jonquils are smaller and have a very strong perfume. They are most probably from the same family though. Must find out.

best of luck to Swampy. I hate the dentist with a passion. I had about 5 new crowns put on a year or so ago and I believe they are more trouble than they are worth.

enjoy your spring. I truly believe summer is on the turn here.. the shadows of autumn have arrived.

We're covered in snow again, so no spring for us yet.

I hope all the dentistry went well, nothing is more miserable than a bad tooth.

Do hope Swampy is feeling better now, toothache is so miserable. Hopefully he can have the offending teeth removed soon and be back to normal again. No daffodils here yet though there are buds on some of the earlier ones. Daffodils and jonquils are both types of the genus narcissus so they are the same but different if you know what I mean:)

Swampy has my sympathy as I had an abscess lanced yesterday, and its also under a crown, which means soft tissue surgery next week to ensure the whole thing is clean. *grrrr*

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
