i have also been making a large scale plan of our back garden~it was...is...a dreadful mess, uncared for by the previous tennant who used it as an open air kennel for her dog~so uncared for even the soil smells really bad.
so last week, with swampys help, i made a scale plan of its footprint and i am now busy going through my gardening books and making plans.
bret was saying in his new post how he feels spring is at the doorstep~well yes i can feel it here in my corner of the new forest. the other day i stood on my doorstep and had a good sniff of the air, the freezing weather of the week before had passed, and i could almost smell the spring coming. the smell in the air was so different than i had been detecting, it really felt like the tide of the land had turned and spring really is at our heels.
so i thought it was high time to start making plans~looking out of the windows that face our back garden the view is awful and that is promting enough!

Go gardener!
ooh I cannot wait to see it evolve! if the soil smells bad, it may need some sweetening.
did you ever see Daisy's backyard? It was amazing.. I think it is still on her blog somewhere.
autumn is on its way here but we will still have a few weeks of late summer I am sure.. although the temps are really cold right now.
Wasn't such a good game as last weeks, but they won in the end!
Come on Ireland (and England of course) hope swampy feels better soon.

Planning your garden is very exciting-can't wait to see how it turns out!
Spring is definitely on it's way, we've noticed a pair of thrushes skipping around our garden, just lovely. I can't wait to see what you do with your garden. Are you having flowers/herbs/veggie patch?

PS Good luck with the course, when I did my OU degree I was always excited and a bit nervous in February !!
OOOOOOOo what a lovely blank canvas you are going to have! I see a very nice vegetable patch and a huge herb garden.... some rhubarb and definately some rasberry canes maybe even a "stella" cherry tree too (Aldi has some fruit trees on offer ths week for silly money (about a fiver!!)
I;ve started lots of herb seeds this week and my mushrooms are throwing up mycelium beautifully - I shall think of your garden as I harvest them hopefully by the end of next week - if you've never grown mushrooms please please do it its like magic :D
