The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~i am sorry...~

*i just need to get this off my chest, so to speak, then i promise, no more ranting!*
a small, bigoted 'political' party has won a very small minority in the european elections.

thank goodness they only have a very small minority and i hope it stays that way, or i will be driving pippin onto a ferry and across the channel faster than a robbers dog

to give those of you an idea of what kind of party they are, they now have a 'youth party' whose mascot is 'billy brit' (oh yes~fantastic isn't it?)

this group/their followers harp on about british pride and tradition and of 'foreigners' taking jobs away from the british, what a load of old codswallop~taking jobs away?
good grief~i saw a tv documentary last year where they were discussing the jobs that were available at the time and they interviewed a young lad, and he said he would rather be unemployed than take what he thought to be an underpaid, menial job.
that's the kind of attitude there is over here, old and young alike (not everyone let me remind you, but they are out there) thinking they are too good for the jobs available and yet moaning that people come over from europe and take their jobs!
as for british pride~this party makes me ashamed to be british.
go here for an idea of the kind of group they are, a nice little feminist blog

The Celts, The Saxons, The Normans, The Windsors ... all 'foreigners', and all British. We are a nation of 'immigrants' partly because we are an island. That's the way of our land and the way it always will be. Ridiculous for anyone to get precious about it. It's what makes us!! Perhaps these BNP people need some history lessons! x

If you'd been at Twiggy Towers over the last 24 hours, we could have had a rantathon. I didn't mention it on my blog as i didn't want a search engine to link my blog with these morons. I am horrified that the 2 MEPs have been voted for by voters in the North West and Yorkshire and Humberside. I am so proud to be a Yorkshire lass and abhor this party and all they represent and hope to goodness people don't think we all support them. I think this is a definite case of a few good men sayig nothing etc, if people don't want these racist, bigots peddling their claptrap they MUST get off their backsides and bloody vote!!!! I get SO mad at the apathy of voters in this country. But that's a whole other rant. Rant tastic !!!

What really drives me crazy is, my husband and I trying to get over to the UK as hard-working, honest people, proud of our British heritage and now because of the change in visa requirements, we are now disqualified! Unfair...we want to work! We want to contribute! Well, no one said life was fair, huh? We're still trying though! Thanks for the interesting post ;)

I don't think that there are many people who would disagree with what you've written! Just goes to show that proportional representation isn't a good thing though - that's how we've ended up with people like this as MEPs.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
