The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~pass me the mead~

lindisfarne mead

i need to celebrate!

i recently submitted an essay on the role of religion in the continuation of the wars of three kingdoms and it was driving me crazy~it was one of the most difficult i have done and from browsing the course forum lots of people were finding it difficult...a real struggle.
the week i set aside to do it was made more difficult by having really bad dizzy spells and three, yes three migraines and at one point i felt close to tears with it all (yes it was that bad)and wished i had never decided to follow this particualr path~

why chose to wade through piles of paperwork, books and research when i could be out in my garden, reading, crafting?

but wade i did, not even needing the extension i had asked my tutor for, although i was dreading the results coming back.
well they came yesterday and i receieved a fantastic 72%~not far from an A grade.

now i am all fired up and feel much more positive for my next one which is on the atlantic slave trade and due in about three weeks. i had hoped to be able to go away camping next week without my books but really dont think i will be able to get that far ahead with my work over the next four days to allow for that luxury~i shall have to see.

Yaaayyyy!!!! Congrats for all your hard work! It feels great to accomplish it all despite the pain of it all. Do you really suffer from migraines? I feel your pain, so do I once in a great while. Have a glass of mead for me :)

Well done you!! I remember one year sat outside a rented cottage in Wales, with a bottle of wine scribbling away at an OU assignment, I even got a decent grade!!! OU is very rewarding but definitely not the easy option. Enjoy your camping trip. I haven't had any Lindisfarne Mead for donkeys years.

congratulations, and wonderful! enjoy your mead, you deserve it. someday you'll be beyond the work of it and only remember the joys of gardening, reading, crafting AND learning.

you the woman! take the books, go camping, and take time to browse them under the trees. they will have a different meaning for you there.

Well done indeed! To achieve that in spite of three migraines is quite something, I suffer from them myself so I know how awful you must have felt. Even if you need to take some books with you at least you can enjoy your break safe in the knowledge that the results are fine.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
