The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

its glorious here in this ancient forest today~a clear blue sky and a hot sun beating down.

i have been remembering to take my camera out when i have been out~but those pigs let out for pannage are being very elusive.

these were found growing in our garden~removed from the nose of an interested pup. i have had no luck in identification.

i am loving the retro label on my soup~usually i make soup, roasted red pepper and tomato being my speciality~but if we are both feeling unwell then tinned has to do.

Nic's Notebook said...: It has been gorgeous weather up in Cheshire as well! Chester has been discovering some wild mushrooms lately on his walks! He is getting a lot more adventurous now, running quite far from us... still has pretty good recall tho! PS - Tomato soup is my fav :); 11 October 2010 at 16:45

Kath said...: We have been similarly blessed here in Somerset, with beautiful weather. Those ponies look very well and ready to go into winter. I'm with you on the soup thing, red pepper soup from Morrisons is good for those of us Duds in the kitchen, with Heinz tomato a close 2nd.; 12 October 2010 at 19:28
