The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~morning windows~

i love this time of year when i get up early on flynts insistence at being let into the garden and i decide to stay up.

i love it when the kettle boils for my first lemon tea and the kitchen window steams up, showing me how cold it may well be outside the walls of our little house.

i have been sitting here wrapped in 'prudence' checking my emails and reading through blogs and watching the sun slowly move across the wall in front of me~right now it is falling directly on our alter and the warmth of it through the window is warming the room a little.

i can hear swampy in the bathroom busily tending his fu manchu 'mo' in his support for Movember a very good cause.

i fully intend on getting out into the forest today as the sky is a cold, clear blue...

(slight pause here for monster 'power surge' or if not feeling particularly powerful a hot flush~doctors this afternoon so hope my blood test results re my hormone levels are in)

...phew...as i was saying i fully intend on getting out with the camera today, i think the day in bed has given me a few extra 'spoons' to use this past couple of days, but i shall try not to go too mad and use them all!

*~*~*~

i don't know why, maybe its been the cold dark weather, but i have been feeling rather festive just lately.

for me yule or any other festival, is not just about a few days~its more of a building of anticipation and excitement at the turning of the wheel.

its a constant feeling of change and movement

I just love this time of year, don't you! Especially around 3ish, when the day is drawing in. Dark, forbolding skies, sawing wood for the fire . Then in for a hot mug of tea. Hope all is well with you?

I love this time of year too. Really enjoyed reading your post, love how you words things. I have started to think about Yule too. Starting to feel festive, very excited but full of cold. I always get lots of colds this time of year.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
