The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~thank you~

oh my friends, thank you for all of your comments on my last post~again days have passed since i even looked at my laptop.

it feels so good to know that friendships and connections exist across mother earth without the need for invasive social networks!

the weather has continued to be glorious...

however last night thunderstorms rolled in from france and spain, it was too hot to sleep so i lay and listened to the thunder as it rolled over us throughout the night.
as i type the clouds are gathering again for another night of storms.

the part of the forest we often walk flynt has been busy with the animals...

highland cattle have been released after the winter...

new foals appear daily...

crab apple in blossom...

and in our garden...

plants have been added to our fountain...

the rambling rose grows around my nook...

a long promised book...

i was given some money and the bookshop in lymington had a 'three for two' offer so i also bought 'the valley of horses' and 'the mammoth hunters'.
i have to say i am totally enjoying the read.

our vegetables are growing well...

a hot, hazy morning...

our banksia rose looks wonderful...

a gnome child in hiding from the sun...

the hare soaking up the sun...

a bed of sweetcorn, peas, french beans, sorrel and radish...

dragonfly chimes in the nook...

a makeshift sun canopy on the hottest day...

gifts from my sisters recent holiday on the isle of wight...

Lovely to see you here and I have to say everything is looking lovely in your pics! I love that series of books, they have been going such a long time and it is a real treat when a new one appears. I thought I would re-read all the others first before buying the new one.... I am envious of your hare too... and your nook.....

Hello Laoi, not to late to send you Beltane blessings I hope!
Your garden looks just lovely, I do like the sun shade idea, it's something I've been thinking about.
The photo of the foal is charming, it reminded me of a little rocking horse.

Such a lovely, summery, photo-walk post :)

I've been thinking about a windchime for out back, problem is I'm very particular how they sound. Can spend ages 'tinkling' to find the right one, lol.

Your pictures really show how beautiful it is at your place. And you try to get the best out of your days. Love those series of books, too, haven't read the last one though, yet. But have to, of course. Want to reread the whole series to fresh my mind up. If you ever get to visit southern France you should visit those caves painted by those folks - they are amazing!
