The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~a few showers~

i am not obsessed with rain right now-honest!

its a better day here in the forest today, although we have sunshine and clouds rushing by the rain has held off which is pleasing me because we have a tiny visitor making camp in the over grown grass of our back lawn.

earlier this morning our neighbour calv (of the great blog mishaps in the making) caught swampy on his way out that a baby bird had made its way into our garden.

i, of course, set up watch at the window, worried a jackdaw might find it and attack it~i have seen magpies do this so thought i would keep an eye on it just in case.
i was glad to see the mum coming to feed it, allowing me to identify the baby~its a blackbird!
she is also not feeding him a lot which makes me think it is not a particularly young baby and it is also preening itself too.
i just hope it does not rain too hard on him if it does.

i am going through an extended period of 'insomnia nights' right now.
i think last night was about the fourth or fifth night.
i get to sleep for about 2-3 hours, wake up and then that it until the birds start singing, when i fall asleep again for a few hours. i think tonight i will have two bags of 'sleep easy' tea in a mug.

over at gaia's garden shop they have lots of oils and incense for relaxation (as well as a lovely forum) so i think its time to spend a little money.

hope you are sleeping better now, I can remember my Nan finding a baby bird and nursing it and then releasing it. I can remember collecting worms from her garden and she would chop them up to feed the bird. I know you are supposed to leave the baby where you find it x

Poor you, hope you are sleeping better soon. I keep waking up beacause I'm too hot then I start thinking about things I need to do, then the birds start singing, then I can't get comfy, then Mr Twigs starts snoring, then the alarm goes off and I could just fall asleep - argh!!!

this insomnia is a worldwide phenomena at the moment.. all to do with planetary alignment.. maybe when you wake.. you could grab your clay disc and do some earth healing xo :)

Hope the tea is helping! I fall asleep within 5 minutes when I go to bed but often wake up during the night, too, and can't fall asleep again for quite some time, and when I have to get up I am so tired. This is really annoying. We get some great "good night" tea from France that is with lavender which gave me the idea to make my own herbal sleep well tea from our own lavender, mint and melisse - love it!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
