The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

~indoors~

i have been fending off the dreaded lurgy for a few days now...i am sure i caught it from swampy who has been ill for a week now.
the trouble is it is taking it own sweet time in breaking...i wish it would so i could be really ill, take to my bed and get it over and done with.
but no its lingering in its early stages and today i just didn't feel like walking out in the winter wonderland.

i have spent the day catching up on films and episodes of nigel slaters simple suppers and actually only ended up here because swampy decided on some guitar practise...his practise involves rowdy music of the ac/dc variety so i have locked him and flynt...poor little man...in the living room while i sit here in my room...the ferrets are out playing...well actually i found mismi curled up under a blanket so he is happily snoozing and i last saw inca rushing off with some kibble...there is no doubt a large stash of ferret kibble somewhere now.

i have taken this opportunity to catch up with the blogs here on my blog roll and found out about...

well of course i had to join in...

*** well swampy has just finished his guitar practise, mismi and inca prised from their blankety nest and put to bed and i am heating up the soup i made yesterday...dont you find somethings always taste so good the day after? i have just taken some gnocchi from the freezer to add to mine.

stay warm readers...

....ohhh and my sourdough (name to come!) is loving his home in the airing cupboard and is about to be fed again...pictures to come!

nothing worse than a lurgy that won't get on with it...i've had a low-grade Something for about a week now and it's most exasperating...

be well!

The sourdough starter living in the airing cupboard - sounds scary! I have visions of it oozing out when you open the door. :o)

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
