The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

~crochet & yoga~

its been a week of mostly crochet and yoga here.

i have not been feeling 'right' so been listening to that and doing little.

today that feeling was gone and as a result spent a good time in my room crafting-i had some ideas for necklaces i really wanted to try and i am very happy with the end result so i shall be putting them up on my website tomorrow.

a day like this, where the things in my head work out, always gives me an essential boost.

yoga does the same-gives me a feel-good head rush, which is why i try to do even a little yoga when i am not feeling great. it just gives me that little extra when i am feeling rotten.
also gentle yoga is one of the things as being suggested as good for fibromyalgia as it is important to keep the joints mobile.

my crochet is slow because of the pains i get in my hands, arms and shoulders and for a year now i have had soft tissue swelling in the joints of my hands so things like crafting, writing and typing is not easy...but i do it.
can you imagine not doing it?
i would go stark raving bonkers...
so i think a bit of pain comes out tops over going bonkers!

however i had made myself a nice cowl with patons colour works aran in 'orion'which is the darker yarn i showed you in my last post.

and i started my part of

wool against weapons...picture to come!

I get pains in my hands and shoulders sometimes from crochet and I don't have any of your health issues. I'm glad that you keep going anyway and I read many years ago that women who knit and crochet actually prolong the life of their joints. Just take it easy and be kind to yourself. I adore yoga and I get such a good feeling that often lasts all day :D Have you looked at Tai Chi or Chi Gong? They are very calm and relaxing.

Hugs to you.x

(Sorry, I seem to have written an essay, lol!)

"wool against weapons"... Love it!
I too, try to do yoga every day, even one or 2 poses if my heart isn't into to it...it always makes me feel more centered, more balanced.
peace!

years of doing cashier work has left me with a slight carpal tunnel feeling that comes up once in awhile and I take a break from crocheting.
Writing, crafting, art-journalling - yep - I'd go crazy without these creative outlets!
peace

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
