The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

thank you all for your comments about my garden...as soon as i had read them i popped out to take some new ones of what greeted me this morning...

we both keep standing looking out at our 'instant' lawn. we were going to put down seed but having flynt we really had to lay turf down to give it the best chance. we are going to put a little seed down where the edges of the turves join to help knit it all together and i keep a watering can filled and handy to water the spot where flynt does his waterworks to stop the overdose of nitrogen killing the area.

we moved the water butt yesterday morning to the end of the ferret home as swampy can put a downpipe from calv's gutter into the butt for maximum water capture. so the little 'pier' off the end of the star gazing deck (cleverly built by swampy to hide a drain cover!) has a baby rowan, blueberry, white currant, small acer and swampys trough of flowers. this screens the bench from the rest of the garden and when the silver birch, hawthorn and elder grows up more this end of the garden will become like a little woodland glade.
we are going to add another level to the ferret cage and have plans to 'decorate' the front to turn it into some form of woodland fairy house so it merges more into the garden.

my nook for those days when it is too hot...it catches the full sun first thing in the morning but later the rambling rose and jasmine shades it. at the moment a holding area for all the plants we need to plant out...the climbing plant at the front of the nook is a clematis called 'silver moon'...well we had to didn't we?!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
