so we are back from the crazy festival madness that is busfest.
we were lucky enough to (almost) have the freedom to camp where we like which had me jumping up and down as this meant we could camp up at a small grove of trees that had a collection of modern man made standing stones among them~something i have wanted to do for many years.
so my immediate neighbour was some lovely trees and a standing stone with woody nightshade growing at its base and it was here that i set up a little impromptu altar and i hung my lanterns in the branches of the tree.
i even took Evangeline and while the site was quiet would take myself off to cycle the roadways of the site knowing i could safely look up at the Malvern hills while moving.
i did actually help swampy a little this time but would mostly sit and read or crochet~listening to and watching the buzzards and dreaming that i had a home up on the hills.
a few mornings we woke to a heavy mist
my friend from Scotland tam with 'step daughter 'o mine' louise
and/or rain
but mostly the weather was glorious with the occasional amazing clouds
swallows resting from their play
i forgot my cauldron for a fire so at night we had to be content with our lanterns
we bought some goodies
this camp kitchen was a lucky find~that very morning i had said to swampy i would like to have the option of not cooking in the camper and walking to my favourite vintage stall i found this sitting there waiting for a nice new owner! in the 13 years we have been going to vw festivals we have never seen one of these for sale~it is something a trader would buy, restore and sell for pots of money. we paid the humble sum of £35 for the 'kitchen', stove top and gas bottle (with gas in) so that night we cooked under the sky :)
dressed as a vintage gym teacher
my friend roland from germany
had amazing sunsets
and i braved a scaffold tower

What beautiful sunset pics such stunning colours, Pleased you have had a lovely time hope you are rested.xx
Looks a lovely spot you nestled into :) and sounds like you've had a really nice time.
We need (the 'need' list grows, lol) a lightweight firepit option to take with us. Would love a great whopping cauldron, but not very practical . . . unless we unloaded everything else! lol
thank you jill~i have nearly regained a stockpile of 'spoons' to replace those i lost!
hearthwife~our 'cauldron' is a gas bottle cut in half with three scaffold legs welded to it and painted with heat resistant black paint...it takes an awful lot of heat! but we have a very hefty lwb van which can take the weight!
i will keep you in mind in my ramblings around the web for something lightweight!
