The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

we popped out shopping yesterday and our route took us past the river avon which spent a great deal of last year flooded. no sooner than it seemed to return to its usual flow the storms came and the fields are once again awash...

our journey took us to the west of the river stour and its flooding which we could see from the road.
we have had almost continuous weather warnings since before yule and the forest is saturated and trees now seem to be falling not only because of the high winds but because tree roots are being undermined by the waterlogged ground.
swampy has stopped taking flynt through the woods now as he feels it is too dangerous-so imagine his shock when at the forest car park this morning he saw a family put a baby into a baby seat on a mountain bike and cycle off into the woods...crazy indeed.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
