The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

monday 13th august...Perseids meteor shower

merry meet )o(
did anyone see anything of the meteor shower last night? i was out the back around 1am watching and it was much better than the rare one i might see, i think i was out for about 30~40 minutes and must have seen 20+. last night was so black thanks to our new moon and we both agreed we had never seen so many stars in our lives, it was a wonderful sight.
it was also very warm last night and i had trouble sleeping~ due to warmth rather than pain, which is a novelty.
as usual my mind wandered and i started to think about how much swampy and i own is 'recycled' and i realzed that over our eight years together we have actually bought very little new.so then my thoughts went further...all our household cleaning products are Ecover, which we get refilled at a great place in dorchester called Down To Earth, where i also buy our eggs, cheese,my herbal, organic tea bags and soap.buy veggies from a chap who has a small stall each week and of course i reuse bags! our personal cleaning is all natural,we maintain two compost bins, burn wood on the rayburn, recycle or compost 99.9% of our waste~we put out one recycled, compostable black bag a month...if that, and we only use pippin once a week to go into dorchester~i hope that helps to negate the times when we do go further afield in pippin. we make sure that we do everything we need in one go,even to the extent of swampy arranging his physiotherapy appointments for the same day.
i feel quite pleased with that but still feel it's not enough...am i being too hard?

I missed these, I was fast asleep early last night.Ive not slept well for a week or so now, my eyes are so sore, and last night I just couldnt keep them open.
I did see some of the photos on the news this morning, and regret not being abe to stay awake! I usually make a point of watching anything celestial like this, but life got in the way (sigh)

Yes, I think that you are being too hard on yourself. I applaud your many enviro affirmative actions/choices. As for Nigel Kennedy, I agree, he is amazing.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
