The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Hopi Prophecy

Think in the morning. Act in the noon. Eat in the evening. Sleep in the night~William Blake

i cannot sleep~i am really tired and my body worn out but i just cant sleep.
i have a lot on my mind with the start of my course in october.
i have started to reconsider my long term aim, from an environmental science degree to one in history. i can do this particular module in environmental science then swap over to history next year and carry the credits over to history~but do i want to spend a year working on a totally different topic? i e~mailed the university today to find out if i can quickly change my course.
i am quite torn over this as i am so interested in environmental issues, but history has always been my great love and i think it may help me get into archaeology at some point in the future~if any of my friends who come to visit me in my roundhouse have any thoughts i would appreciate it!

i have also been pondering the practical aspects such as a work area~sitting here at this table (my parents dining table from when they were married back in the 1960's!) is the home of our p.c ~ and a place of great distraction due to my music being on here~to say nothing of the lure of the web~all those seitan recipes~this blog~unnecessary e-mailing...the list is endless. we are also limited on space elsewhere for a desk, but i have found the perfect result;a drop leaf, wall mounted table~sustainable wood~from ikea and a wall space that is perfect in the kitchen where the only distraction is herbal tea bags a large larder with unsalted Kettle chips and birds to watch out of the window!
as we also need a new bed frame we will be stopping at ikea in bristol for both on our way back from vanfest~i realized i occasionally mention vanfest and i don't know if any of you have a clue what i am talking about~so for a while i shall put a link up to the site for you.

I've decided there still might be enough heat on the rayburn to make a hot milk, i really need to try to get some sleep...goodnight friends

Hi,
More and more I think that it is better in life to follow your passions. It makes life so much easier because it then doesn't feel like a task but a joy. I am also hoping to re-start my studies but in a years time when hopfully I have become more at peace with my MS. You seem to have solved the study area problem...again it wounldn't matter where you studied if the fire was there.
Sorry I am prone to waffleing with out making much sense:-)
Take care ..do let us know what you decide:-)

you have to listen to your self. you know deep inside whether you should choose environmental science or history.

and having somewhere without distractions is so important, so well done on solving that problem.

Ahhh choices, choices, choices. As for myself, I would tend to go on the side of history as that is my passion as well. Be decisions like this cannot be made on the advice of a total stranger. So I can be of no help on this one. However I will say that both areas of study a noble pursuits.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
