The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

waxing moon freaky

merry meet )o(

beautiful, beautiful day here in dorset~so much so i took Cody out for a second walk when i decided to go to my stream in the valley, despite my m.e trying to convince me otherwise.
walking up the lane was lovely, the hedgerows have been growing like crazy since the recent burst of rain then sunshine and its a mix of rose hips, blackberries, honeysuckle, hazel and wildflowers and at the stream i communed with who i had to while Cody splashed around. the walk back seemed longer than usual because i felt tired but it was so good to get out on a nice day.

well yesterdays seitan workshop was disastrous to say the least~my attempt turned into a slimy blob and swampys into a slightly larger, not so slimy blob. luckily i had some dried chestnuts in the larder so made up a nice hotpot with roast parsnips and potato's. anyway i finally found a company in this country that sells wheat gluten powder and ordered two packs so now i can access the various American blogs and websites for specific recipes and actually produce something edible!

to counter the effect of bad seitan production i listened to jethro tull's 'songs from the wood' rather loudly and i think the combination of our lovely waxing moon and some particular lyrics/music, but i started to feel very strange indeed~a feeling that has followed me through to today...not helped by that song again~if you get moon gazy, listen if you can, to jethro tull's 'velvet green'...

i was watching CNN news today and they were reporting on an american football star who is being prosecuted for dog fighting and all the dreadfulness that goes along with that disgusting activity~i just hope that the judge can see beyond his fame and justice is served...but my belief in the law of the threefold return holds strong.

Merry Meet! It is wonderful to meet another Witch here in bloggerland. I'm so glad I found your blog. I am an eclectic Wiccan Faery Witch in the USA. When you get a chance stop by my two blogs. I'd love to hear from you! And I have already bookmarked yours to visit every day. Big fun! Sending you many faery hugs today!

Hi Lee xo thanks so much for visiting my blog. Your walk sounds wonderful - I love the sound of the hedgerows. Let me know what kind of recipes you need, my daughter in law is a dietician and creates meals for children with alot of food allergies.. she may have some recipes that I can send.
Dog fighting, cock fighting - it all sickens me. I won't watch the clip as it would upset me too much. yes, the threefold law, the law of Karma - whatever we call it..I believe too xo

oh, and so do I (believe in Karma) what goes around definitely comes around, and those sick people who take part in dog or cock fighting will pay for their cruelty.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
