The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

Cormac Byrne & his Bodhran

merry meet )o(
home again, and thank you for your comments. i love logging in everyday to see what you write and then see how you all are via your lovely blogs.
well i had another great night last night~it was strange though to see not only Seth Lakeman and his band but Teddy Thompson and Bens Brother again too, so soon after the last experience, but being the music lover i am it was no hardship.
i came away clutching the Teddy Thompson cd and a workshop leaflet on a chap that now plays with Seth called Cormac Byrne who plays the bodhran (and gives workshops!) in a way to make you weep. sorry there is no other way to describe how his playing can transform and improve a song.

anyway i am incredibly tired and need to start to drafting my 'taster' essay so i will go here, check one thing that needs posting after this and i am sure i will be considerably more chatty tomorrow!

Sounds brilliant I once saw Karen Mathieson (lead singer with Capercaillie) two nights in a row and it was totally brillant!I totally love music...couldn't live with out it!!!
I hope the course is going well. It is so difficult getting back into essay writing after a long break between studies:-) Originally I trained as a nurse but after the children were born and at school I started helping out at their school and somehow got sucked into becoming a school secretary. Eventually I did a business admin course and at first found it a bit of a slog but after a couple of months things became easier:-)
Take care,
Alison x

it sounds wonderful Lee. I am not musical in the least but I love drumming rhythms, and even I can get a little drumming rhythm from my bodhran!

Take it easy tonight- rest now!

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
