The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

a journey today

merry meet )o(

we are off to The New Forest today to have dinner with my mum and sister, i shall make sure to take the camera as the forest is so totally diferent from the photos i take of dorset.
after dinner sam and i will be driving further east to Southampton to see Seth Lakeman play at the guildhall. sam is not really into folk music, but i hope she has a good time.
i am really looking forward to going to the forest, i was brought up there and really miss it, especially at this time of year. the moors and forests are the most amazing colors and you can see for miles when you are high enough~when swampy first moved down he was amazed to find that from a particular place on the higher moors just outside my mums village you can see across the solent to the isle of wight! and of course something else a new person to the forest is surprised about is that horses, cows and donkeys are free to roam~and also pigs as this is the pannage season~so fingers crossed we shall see some today and i can share the pictures with you all.

Your New Forest sounds like it gets into your blood like my Blue Mountains do.

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
