The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

merry meet

its lovely how kind words from people can make a person feel so much better and lift the miserable feelings brought on by flu....thank you all so much for your comments.
i am presently seated in my favourite armchair, wrapped in a big woolly cardigan and scarf.
swampy stoked the rayburn hours ago so the warmth is coming through the door of the kitchen, but the sun coming through the front window is making the room feel toasty so there is no need for a fire yet.
i woke to the most glorious hard frost and brilliant blue skies, which as i sat in bed drinking my lemon tea was replaced by a thin creeping mist that turned the world a sparkiling silver. swampy said from up the hill where he was with cody he was in a clear area and all around him was a layer of mist that he was able to see slowly rolling through the valley, the top of bulbarrow hill was clear in the blue skies. i havent yet seen the pictures he took but i hope they are good ones!

i doubt i will be moving far from this chair today...last night i poked my head out into the garden and the cold started me coughing...i have just made myself a smoothie...oh the joy of frozen blueberries! and poked my head out of the back door. the temperature is just above freezing so i think we can safely say that winter is with us. i rescued my aloe vera plant which was looking rather frost-bitten and found it a nice little pot to sit in on top of my compost kitchen caddy.
i have noticed that this afternoon one of my favourite Ealing films, the 1953 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' is on...so i know what i will be doing this afternoon.
swampy has an hospital apointement this afternonn but he is leaving me at home...the heating in pippin is what you would expect of a 36 year old work horse so i will stay home with cody and keep the fire stoked.

another lazy day for me...i have decided to do little today and give myself this one extra day and get myself back to normal tomorrow. finish and send my assaignment and maybe start the reading for my next module...all about the history of the Colosseum, which i am really looking forward to.

so my friends, thank you again for all your kind thoughts and comments, they are so much appreciated.

I felt like I was there in the frost with Swampy :) - gorgeous words.... I simply cannot wait to experience all of this.. it sounds like pure magick.. and although our country is gorgeous, it is gorgeous in a different way. our colours are of the earth... your colours seem to be silver, blue, white and greens..

I am sick too.. I have a chest thing and feel dreadful.. so i am taking myself off to bed right now.. it is cold here today.. weird weather in Woodford - yesterday was 28 today is 5..no wonder we are all getting ill.

enjoy yourself in that chair..xoxo

my message didn't get to you yesterday (don't know what happened ,computer keeps playing up )Anyway i'm glad you're feeling a bit better,I'm sure swampy and cody are doing a good job looking after you.Home made lemon and honey in hot water with a drop of whiskey if you have it is a comforting drink and getting yourself back under your covers for awhile longer until you get your strength back . Take care,Love from Kathyann

Glad you are starting to feel better, rest, warmth and hot lemon are the best cures for a cold.
