back from Derbyshire and what a beautiful place it is!
unfortunately the drive took ten hours so it was getting too dark to get some really good photos as we passed through Matlock Bath and Matlock.
we stayed at a campsite about two miles out of Matlock, pitched halfway up a dale in Tansley with amazing views.
swampy had a meeting in Matlock on the saturday and our good friend sean came to collect him so that cody and i wouldnt have to 'up sticks' and could instead enjoy the views and do some reading, and of course tune in my little tv to watch the rugby!
we loved the area so much we had decided to stay an extra night so that we could spend sunday being tourists. but true to form i felt unwell and had not brought enough medication with me to last an extra day. so we returned home on sunday~via a slightly different route which took only 7 hours. still a big journey for me so i spent yesterday recovering!
however we are travelling up to a village near Whitby at 'easter' so have decided to break the very long journey with a couple of nights back at Tansley and this time do the tourist thing~and i cannot wait!

Sounds and looks like you had a great weekend! Imagine the perfectness of that hidey-hole for Pippin with leaves on the trees. I love such hedges. Sorry you couldn’t stay any longer.
