The Flame Haired Solstice Dreamer

Cold winter brings the Everfrost and jewels every tree
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
A flame~haired dreamer wanders there and shelters from the wind
And spins her dreams around the trees to break the ties that bind
She takes her thread and spins anew and how the Greenwood smiles
As she spins a spell for freedom and for her spirit Wylde

The dreamer finds an ancient oak and shelters in his lee
In a forest new as birth and old as old can be
Tis summer now and birdsong weaves its magick through her spells
And humming bees drum drowsily in the foxglove's bells
The dreamer sits beneath the oak with yarn upon her knee
And spins and knits and weaves her dreams and sets her spirit free

a day of reading today for my studies; i finished jean rhys 'wide sargasso sea and Euripides 'medea' and i have to admit i enjoyed 'medea' so much more.
my next essay of 1500 words is due in at the start of april so i will have to take my books and paper and pens away with us when we go off to Goathland, near Whitby for our clubs 'easter' camp in two weeks time.
wandering up the lane this morning i was glad to see the ramsoms (wild garlic, bears garlic, wood garlic) sprouting nicely in the woods, swampy really dislikes the smell but i have to say it makes me feel quite hungry! i have also seen new cleavers coming up along the same wooded bank.
it was a lovely walk with blue skies. those skies have now been replaced with grey and the temperature has dropped quite a bit.
well yesterday i moved onto two tablets daily for a week in an attempt at training my feeble insulin (as my doctor told me~me insulin is not man enough for the job!) and as my nurse suggested have been testing my blood regularly throughout the day~so far its been 5 times and i have to say i am glad i do not have to do it every day. but i can certainly see there is a quite a consistant raise and drop to my levels.
~i have had a really poor appetite all week and last night woke up feeling really ill~but today i am really looking forward to a meal. so tonight i am making mixed mushrooms in a pepper sauce, with rice and some sweetheart cabbage and tender stem brocolli on the side~even writing about it is making me hungry!
on that note i am heading into the kitchen to whip up a batch of seitan...

All things share the same breath~the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.
